Cold floors, wind, and being rushed.
Was there anything they really disliked?

A short walk, a very long sleep, a brief burst of running in the field, and then another very long sleep.
Did you have a little ritual together?

He did the 'roach' — flat on his back, all four legs in the air, absolutely no dignity, just for me.
How did they greet you when you came home?

Every sofa in the house, sideways, taking all of it, with his legs hanging off the end.
