Laps far too small for him, the sofa
Sit, paw, bed, and 'cuddles', at which he would climb onto the nearest person without hesitation.
Any tricks or words they knew?

Being alone, closed doors between us, and the rain, which he regarded as a personal betrayal by the sky.
Was there anything they really disliked?

A walk around the park, a session of intense cuddling, a long nap on the warmest available human, then the evening campaign for the sofa.
Did you have a little ritual together?

He wiggled so hard his whole back end swung sideways, and made a sound somewhere between a groan and a song.
How did they greet you when you came home?

On top of me, all of him, convinced he was the size of a cat and entitled to a lap.
Where did they love to sleep or curl up?

He smiled. A real smile, teeth and all, which alarmed strangers and delighted anyone who knew him.
What were their funny habits or quirks?

He came out of a rescue after two returns, with a note that said simply 'misunderstood'. The staff cried when we took him. We understood within a day.
