About Willow
Whippet

Santa Fe, NM
Warm roast chicken
Blankets, eleven seconds of sprinting

She learned 'bed', 'jumper', and her name, and she came when called, which for a whippet is a minor miracle.
Any tricks or words they knew?
-----
Cold floors, wind, loud noises, and the general harshness of a world she found to be rather too much.
Was there anything they really disliked?
-----
A cautious morning walk, a burst of impossible speed in the yard, then roughly sixteen hours of sleeping in various warm locations.
Did you have a little ritual together?
-----
She rose like a question mark, stretched into a bow, and then leaned her whole slight weight against my legs.
How did they greet you when you came home?
-----
Under the covers, fully under, curled into the smallest possible circle against the backs of my knees.
Where did they love to sleep or curl up?
-----
She shivered dramatically at temperatures that did not warrant it, which earned her an extensive and frankly ridiculous wardrobe.
What were their funny habits or quirks?
-----
She was the shy one at the rescue, pressed into the back corner, shaking. I sat on the floor of the kennel for an hour and she crept into my lap, and that was decided.
