Being brushed, dashing in happy circles

She came for parsley, knew her name, and would stand up on her back legs on command, mostly for parsley-related reasons.

Any tricks or words they knew?

-----

The sound of the smoke alarm, being rushed, and any grooming session she judged to be too short.

Was there anything they really disliked?

-----

Morning greens, a burst of binkies across the living room, a long grooming session she demanded daily, an afternoon nap, and an evening in a warm lap.

Did you have a little ritual together?

-----

She did a happy little circle and then nudged my ankle with her nose, which meant it was now, surely, time for parsley.

How did they greet you when you came home?

-----

In a basket by the wood stove in winter, a small golden puff radiating contentment.

Where did they love to sleep or curl up?

-----

Her mane gave her the look of a tiny indignant lion, and she knew it, holding court on the rug as though expecting to be admired.

What were their funny habits or quirks?

-----

She was an unwanted Easter present the family could not keep by summer. I said I would foster her until she found a home. She found one. It was mine.
